THE
CAUSE

Survivorfest is held in support of Saffron Centre, which is a non-profit organization based in Sherwood Park, Alberta, that supports the healing and empowerment of those affected by sexual violence.

According to Roxane Tiessen, Executive Director of Saffron Centre, "Saffron Centre ia a non-profit organization working to create communities free from sexual violence through education, counselling, and advocacy. Since 2018, Survivorfest's ultra-marathon has raised awareness about the harms of sexual violence and has supported our prevention based education program through funds raised. Our education program reaches over 20,000 children, youth, and adults annually. Survivorfest is an important part of raising awareness about our programs and services and the incredible societal harm cause by sexual trauma. We are thrilled that Surviorfest has supported us through this event - our clients feel supported by the community and there is stronger awareness and community unity working together to end sexual violence."

With the help and support of our community Survivorfest Running Event has raised over $21,000 to date and can’t wait to see what this year brings!
